Safari Alfa WAP FIX (Thank you Ali)

Update: I have uploaded the UAFaker.plist file that Ali has generously posted. You can download it from the BOX on the right, and SSH it into your iphone.

I haven’t tried this personally, but Ali claims that he managed to fix safari browsing on alfa.

Solution: Download from cydia app called UAFaker then ssh into the phone to var/mobile/Library/SBSettings/toggles/uafaker and edit UAFaker.plist to look like this

His solution makes a lot of sense, since alfa may be blocking the iphone web browser among others, so by following his solution u will be tricking alfa into thinking u are not on an iPhone.

So guys go ahead and search Cydia for UserAgent Faker and download it, u can then activate it from sbsettings u may want to try it before editing the file Ali mentioned.

iPhone MMS in Lebanon

A while ago, some loyal readers asked me if i can activate mms on the iPhone.

Well the good news is that i looked into that and found the problem.

The bad news is that no solution is yet to be found, so let me explain.

The problem here is with the service providers “MTC and ALFA”.

MMS functions similarily to WAP and they both require an APN (Access Point Name).

MTC and Alfa have different APNs for each service they provide (typically they should be on the same server and same APN like those of Orange, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc..)

MTC

WAP APN : wap.mtctouch.com.lb

MMS APN: mms.mtctouch.com.lb

ALFA

WAP APN: wap.mic1.com.lb

MMS APN: mms.mic1.com.lb

so here’s the problem right there…. iPhone cannot identify 2 different APNs…

I’m STILL looking for a solution to this problem and will keep u guys and gals updated
